PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Penta Career Center unveiled its own new fix-tilt, ground-mount solar array Friday morning.

The $2 million structure, completed in August 2020 and operational as of Aug. 7, produces 1.76 million kilowatt-hours of power.

First Solar provided 3,168 Series 6 panels manufactured at its Lake Township facility, which were then installed by Enerlogics and GEM EnergyOnSite Partners owns the array and sells power to the school through a 25-year agreement.

The panels are expected to provide nearly 60% of electricity needed for the facility.

Penta students will participate in project-based learning and remote monitoring activities with the array.
